Theory of Media, Blog 7

We are all familiar with Fox News, CBS, CNN, and NBC. These well known news sources flood the media with the same stories; ISIS, ebola, and the latest NFL drama. But what about the stories we don’t hear?  If a tree falls in the woods and no one is there to hear it, does it make a sound? We don’t know. But if something happens and the media doesn’t cover it, it still happened.

For this week’s blog, explore some lesser known news sources from under the radar journalism sites, and share an article that you think should be top news and talk about it. Why do you think it is important? And why have major news outlets neglected to give it proper attention? Like last week, please comment on this post with the article you have chosen so we avoid repeats!

Some places to start:
Project Censored
NPR On the Media
Columbia Journalism Review
